Residents of Kibera, Nairobi, blocked roads and lit bonfires from as early as 6 am to prevent voting on Thursday. They kept vigil in various parts saying they did not want anybody around. At the Olympic Primary School polling station, the people closed the gates and blocked the way using carts and rocks.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto said Jubilee Party was ready for the repeat presidential election but but on the other habd, NASA chief Principle Raila Odinga asked his supporters to stay home during this exercise.
